A few weeks ago I was honored to be interviewed by Seshamaru and Kixxi of the website VandielProfiles.com on behalf of Limit Break Radio which has been featured as VandielProfiles.com's 'Who's Who in FFXI' segment. This interview was a lot of fun and gives a little bit of insight into what goes into making Limit Break Radio as well as the history and other various aspects of the show. Limit Breaking News 7 - June 2008 Update
Limit Break Radio presents another edition of Limit Breaking News. We're covering the latest additions to Final Fantasy XI in the June 2008 version update! Our good friend Gyudva makes his return to LBR to help us discuss many different elements of this versitile update. Check it out!
Real quick, some things are going to be changing with LBR, we're working on adding embedded flash players like the one below for each show on the listen page as well as the ability to play each show in a pop up flash player as well. We're also considering adding a "lo-fi" RSS feed for users who have slower connections or limited disk space. I am going to be pretty busy for the next week or so so expect to see these changes within a few weeks. Additionally be on the lookout for Episode 33 of Limit Break Radio in the near future.

New Image Upload Feature Added to the Linkshell Community!
A new image upload feature has been added to the FINAL FANTASY XI
Linkshell Community Beta Version. Using this feature, users are able to
upload images such as screenshots to their community's message board or
calendar.
Users can utilize this feature to post pictures from
events held by their linkshell or upload strategic plans for an
upcoming battlefield. Feel free to use it however you want!
In addition to the image upload feature, we are also planning on adding a "Photo Album" in the near future.

Honor Amongst Thieves.
'Honor Amongst Thieves' has been moved! After more then a year, I've decided to peel the archives from the FFXIclopedia.Org's Blogging system to something with a bit more of an organized archive system. Since Series 2 has started, it's been a bit more jumbled together and I think this move will be for the best.
Since I'm moving everything over post-by-post, I'm going back through Series 1 and re-vising\re-writing a bit as I post, so anyone who hasn't read HAT before, now might be a good time to jump into it. Or, if you have been reading this might be a good time to hop back and re-familiarize yourself with the plot and characters!

The addition of compelling new missions to the Wings of the Goddess storyline will form the heart of this update. Caution on Account Hacking
Recently both ABC News and Yahoo! News have reported that over 10,000 websites have been infected by hackers in an attempt to steal the IDs and passwords used in various online games.
Based on the articles, it is apparent that hackers are heavily targeting online game accounts. As we have often reminded our players in the past, we ask that you continue to monitor and update the security of your system and Internet connection to prevent any harm caused by infected websites and malicious programs.
If you suspect your account is compromised, please contact the Information Center and provide us with the details. If your account is compromised outside Information Center business hours, please place a helpdesk call in order to contact a Game Master (GM) to report the details. Depending on your situation, we will offer all the assistance we can, including temporary login restriction to prevent any further harm, as well as instructions on how to proceed from there.
We are currently reviewing the restoration policy for players who have had their accounts compromised. Our goal is to expand the assistance towards affected players by restoring their accounts to a state that's as close as possible to the state it was in before it was compromised. Details on the restoration policy will be announced on the official web site once they become finalized. We appreciate your patience and understanding in this matter.

Great Figures of the Crystal War, Vol. II
That ignoble, rusted chest turned up from the cluttered depths of Muckvix's Junk Shop in Lower Jeuno has divulged still more of its secrets. In the process, it continues to reveal the heretofore obscure history of the Crystal War in the form of biographical accounts of some of its most integral players. The archiving of the most recent installment of these priceless profiles has been completed, and the works released to the public for the first time in the latest scholarly journals.

Limit Break Radio will be attempting to make some overall updates soon. I know we have some work to do on Fan Art and the Music section, maybe more videos if we can find them, the wallpapers section is due for a huge update, and oh yeah the host bios! So, yeah, a lot for me to do this week. But we thought that we should start with our links section. Knights of the Chocobo is a linkshell on Odin run by Viceroy that was started right about the time I got to Odin. They do NM runs and all kinds of other events and all hang out on Skype together. Well, they recently started recording some of their adventures and/or mis-adventures. These videos include commentary by those that are involved with the runs and you may indeed see and hear some Limit Break Radio cast members! I'll skip past all of that and tell you this; this donation program is run through our awesome web hosts Dreamhost.com, and you are donating directly and exclusively for our server costs. That's it. We can't see this money. Kallo can't further his red curry habit or Erufailon can't dip his hand in the till when he needs some shroomin' time. Version Update Notice
The next FINAL FANTASY XI version update is scheduled to take place in early March. We are currently planning to introduce brand new quests and areas to supplement the Wings of the Goddess expansion pack. Adjustments and tweaks will also be made to a host of elements such as Campaign battles and other battle related items.
Details regarding the above additions and changes will be released in the near future.

Following the immense popularity of last year's Fan Art Contest, a similar contest will be held this year around the time of the Doll Festival.

MMO Documentary featuring Aniero available at W00t Studios
Back in November, as we all know, I was fortunate enough to be able to attend the 2007 Final Fantasy XI Fan Festival. During that time, while working on Limit Break Radio's coverage of the event, I was also tasked with creating a 20 minute documentary about a subject of my choosing. What topic did I choose? Why, online games of course! I know what you're thinking "ZOMG! Aniero! That's sooooo broad, there's no way you could squeeze the entirety of online gaming into 20 minutes!" Yeah, I kind of thought the same thing, which lead to a few mental break downs and a near permanent mark on my forehead that reads "Behrin" from where I was banging my head repeatedly against my Behringer mixer...however, I was able to focus my subject and make, what I think, to be a damn fine documentary about the world of online gaming.
The documentary features a friend of mine, Jeff "Mindscythe" Smith, a professor at Central Michigan University, who is working on a theory about online behavior and interaction and an old show favorite Gyudva as well as his wonderful wife Cairstiona. Jeff was nice enough to share my work with Jester from the all mighty W00t Studios who offered to premier the documentary on the W00t Studios site. This is a very big honor for me, so thank you to Jester, Mindscythe and everyone at W00t Studios, and also thank you to Gyudva and Cairstiona for letting me pick their brains and almost making them miss the last developers panel. I'd also like to thank those that hung out with me on Skype for nearly 2 hours talking about MMORPG's for this project, sadly, I was restricted by time and therefore wasn't able to use the recordings, but I thank you for your time and contribution to the project. That recording session will see the light of day someday, trust me. Also, thank you to MarcstaR, all of the music that was used in the documentary (except game music) was composed by MarcstaR, so huge thank you to him! Lastly, I would like to thank everyone here at the Limit Break Radio community. It was all of you that inspired this project. I cannot thank you guys enough for coming here and hanging out and forming the LBR community. You are all amazing, never forget that.

The Black Mages III: Darkness & Starlight
So anyone who is familiar with the Black Mages know that it's legendary Final Fantasy composer Nobuo Uematsu rock band that does versions of Final Fantasy songs. Their thir album will be released March 19'th, 2008. From what I've been able to gather, it's going to be a double CD with one CD focusing on Final Fantasy music and the other CD focusing on Japanese mythology. I know all of us here at Limit Break Radio are super excited! The album is coming out off of Dog Ear Records.
In LBR news, Episode 28 is still not done yet, it looks as if we may have another super long episode on our hands...so rejoice or begin the wailing and gnashing of teeth, whichever you prefer.

Welcome to the NEW Limit Break Radio & Episode 27!
Wow, this place looks pretty cool...I hope everyone is liking our new design care of Stormblade (thanks a ton Stormblade ^_^d). He did a really nice job with the layout so we thought we would start using it right away. Also, big thanks to Sellsword for the top banner! We're still developing some new stuff for the site to heighten its functionality on the administrative end. We're also working on a totally awesome second design with Revitozu that users will be able to choose between. The boards may see a new skin sometime soon, so in other words we got more cool stuff on the way! We've also updated the media section, we now have a few videos up and we've launched our new image gallery where you can check out our pictures from the 2007 Fan Festival & our Fan Art!

Simply Juxta 2: Happy Juxta-mas!
Happy Holidays everyone! Hope you all are enjoying episode 26....oh?....you want more, eh? Fine, here's a brand new....Simply Juxta! It's Starlight Celebration time! Also, Juxta has a new co-hort, Jaredin!! This Simply Juxta is complete with a brand new holiday song by TamTu! It totally rocks and is totally hilarious! Big shout out to TamTu ^_^d Anyway, check it out, hope you guys like it.
So, I know we mentioned that we recorded Episode 27 a few weeks back, and the total running time was...3 hours! Now, this isn't totally uncommon...we've had 3 hour long raw files...but we were always able to cut it down to just under 80 minutes. Not so much with Episode 27. Now, I know we don't reveal much info about a show before it's released, but our good friend Dashknocker joined us for this show to talk about what to expect in the beginning levels of Final Fantasy XI. The total running time of the edited show is just over 2 hours...so...screw it, we're going to have an extended New Years Eve Limit Break Radio featuring:

A Starlight Celebration Gift!!
The Starlight Celebration, that annual festive occasion for the inhabitants of Vana'diel to make wishes upon the stars in the night sky, has come yet again to San d'Oria, Bastok, and Windurst.
All three nations are resplendent in the breathtaking decor of the season with its splendidly adorned trees and captivating lights, and the spirit of holiday cheer is unmistakable on the faces of the townspeople as they traipse the city streets. And as for the moogles? Why, for some reason they seem to be flitting about to and fro in an extremely agitated state...

I know I'm kind of late on this one, but I, Aniero, have made an appearance in one of our favorite web comics! LVL UP!. As you all will remember I got the chance to speak with Saskiot of the almighty WeSH at FanFest, well, I was also treated to a tour of the WeSH HQ.This is the account of that interview...now the tape kinda got, well....Juxta kinda got to it and decided to use it for decorating our Starlight Celebration tree, so this is the best you get. lol.

The Starlight Celebration is nearly here!
The Vana'diel tradition known as the Starlight Celebration is all set to kick off on Tuesday, December 18th.
The townspeople of all nations are already getting into the holiday spirit, decorating their cities with festive trees and dazzling lights. Street vendors are setting up shop with a plethora of special seasonal wares and everyone is going about preparing to make this year's celebration an unforgettable experience for all of Vana'diel's adventurers. And rest assured that the moogles would never let a holiday season pass without doing something spectacular!

Limit Breaking NEW STUFF!
Hey everyone. Now we've been getting a lot of questions asking: where's the new show? We want to know the new host! OK, here's the skinny. We've had Episode 26 recorded for a good month or month in a half, before the FanFest for sure. Anyway, I edited most of the episode, and forgot to do signal processing. After applying the signal processing and saving I realized that...the show sounded like total garbage. Imagine listening to an episode that sounded like we encoded it at like 96kbps, yeah it was difficult to get through. So FanFest and my real life have kept me busy since we recorded the show and has held it up, but we should have that out within a few weeks. We're also scheduling to record Episode 27 next week sometime.
We also have some more new stuff. Some of you have no doubt noticed a change in our board system. Thanks go to Zero for that. We now have sub-forums and we will be expanding the forums. We're also working on an actual site update to make it easier to post shows and news articles and whatnot. Lastly, we've opened an image gallery. This will eventually be the gallery for the entire site, but right now, it hosts our Fan Fest pictures. You can check that out here.
Again, sorry for the lack of recent updates and shows, we're doing the best we can.

I Have Returned!
OK, guys. I'm back from FanFest and all I gotta say is...wow. It was a true pleasure meeting all of you and I am beyond humbled by all of your kind words. You all are so awesome and I had such a great time! I am honestly blown away.
I'm sorry we haven't updated since FanFest started as I had limited internet access (WiFi FTL) and, to be honest, there was so much to do and so much to talk about and so much to record we were kept busy almost every second since arriving. Editing on the FanFest Special will begin in roughly 3 hours as I need to do a little recuperating.
I hope everyone else has a safe return and thanks for a blast of a weekend!

By now, most players should be familiar with the Mog House and the invaluable conveniences it offers. As of the next version update, the Mog House will undergo a further renovation, as characters will now be able to invite and welcome others into their own private residence!

Scholars: Martial Magicians
Wings of the Goddess, the upcoming expansion for FINAL FANTASY XI, will give players the opportunity to discover a new job and an old favorite: the scholar.
During the time of the Crystal War, scholars earned the respect of all ranks of the allied forces with their ability to lead troops to victory using a combination of shrewd planning and resourceful strategies in their positions as tacticians and military officers.

Limit Breaking News 5 - The 2007 Vana'diel Celebration - Osaka, Japan
Limit Break Radio brings you another Limit Breaking News with our good friends Maxx-V and Tigerfury. Maxx-V was attending the 2007 Vana'diel Celebration in Osaka, Japan over this past weekend, so we discuss what Square-Enix has decided to tell us about the upcoming expansion Wings of the Goddess. I have to appologize because the ;ast Limit Breaking News that wa had recorded when Maxx was in Tokyo for the Tokyo Game Show got lost in the frey, so it never saw the light of day, but we do talk about the upcoming job Dancer as well as Scholar and plently more expansion tidbits.

So, Scholar Looks Pretty Cool...
So, the second job coming with Wings of the Goddess has been announced, it's Scholar. Looks pretty cool...if you like goofy looking hats, which I do. This image was used from the Official Wings of the Goddess website where they have a few more shots of Scholar with some scant information. We're still waitng on a video from Osaka, we'll keep you updated as more information is released. Look for a Limit Breaking News in the near future.

Simply Juxta Episode 1: Juxta-ween
We're finally getting back into the swing of things here. Firstly, you'll notice that we have a new segment entitled 'Simply Juxta'...yes...Juxta has his own show.....and there was much wailing an gnashing of teeth...anyway, you all kept asking and look what you made us do. So Limit Break Radio (reluctantly) presents: Simply Juxta. A show hosted by our intern Juxtaposition about the in-game holiday events...and whatever else he wants to yap about. Check it out in the listen section.
Also, we just wrapped our 26th episode, so you guys can look forward to a brand new full-length episode here in just a little bit. Maybe I'll put together an episode preview...maybe not...so, I guess we'll see how lazy I am...
The Crystal War
The Crystal War, or Great War as it is also known, was the largest conflict between the beastmen and the children of Altana in the history of Vana'diel.
After suffering staggering losses, the Allied Forces of Altana finally emerged victorious. Yet even after twenty years of rebuilding, this dark chapter of the past still casts a shadow over the people of Vana'diel.

Dancers, Maidens of the Battlefield
The Wings of the Goddess expansion slated for release this November marks the return of the dancer to the world of Vana'diel. The following is an introduction to this intriguing new job.
It was at the time of the Crystal War that dancers became truly sought after as battleworthy allies. Word soon spread of their inspiring ability to allay the troubled hearts of soldiers made uneasy by the trials and tribulations of the frontline, and of their prowess as heroines in their own right, staking their lives on the field of battle alongside the bravest of warriors. In this manner they came to garner immense favor and respect from all ranks in the great armies of Altana.
